Imaging Informatics is an integral part of a career as a Diagnostic Imaging professional. This Course aims at providing all the essential skills and knowledge necessary for the successful planning, implementation, and maintenance of a PACS, and other radiology systems. This program helps new and aspiring PACS Administrators understand what is needed and required to be successful. Content included will also help students interested in taking the Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) certification exam. Topics include: a practical overview to PACS Administration and Operations, DICOM and HL7, Networking, PACS workflow and architecture, Image exchange, and Electronic Health Records (EHR) integration.
PACS in radiology is constantly evolving and new integration challenges are changing the way imaging services are provided. PACS management is a growing challenge for Radiology department personnel and vendors. PACS and Imaging Informatics must accommodate many different workflows including non-radiology needs.
