PREVIOUS TRAINING FEEDBACK

This course is day-long instruction and review of the recommended content and skill set needed for a PACS Administrator or an Imaging Informatics Professional. The course content follows the content listed for a typical certification examination is intended also as a preparation workshop. Staff sometimes get encouraged to take a PACS Administration position And never got formally trained, or do not feel they know what is needed to do the job. This course can enhance that knowledge and increase proficiency and bring success. Methodical instruction takes the student through the topics that are familiar to the jobs and expands upon them, interjecting with real world experiences and interactive discussion Presented by experienced professionals, this program will cover the inner workings of Imaging Informatics from the traditional local PACS , to the eventual transition to an advanced Enterprise Imaging system.

You will leave this course with an advanced understanding of:

  • What to expect from an Imaging Informatics certification examination
  • What is expected of a PACS Administrator from the professional organizations
  • Existing CIIP credentialed students can get CE Credits for CIIP
  • New ideas to bring back to work
  • Candidates for CIIP
  • Experienced PACS Administrators
  • Technologists who want to learn PACS and Informatics
  • New PACS Administrators
  • PACS Manager And Director Commercial Representatives

Yes, in case of any problem we will reach you to address the problem.
American Society of Radiologic Technologist (ASRT) is the premier professional association of people working in medical imaging and radiation therapy
ASRT membership helps you advance your career, keep up with continuing education, advocate for your patients, network with colleagues and much more.
Yes, members who are not registered with the ARRT and live outside the United States can become ASRT members. For more details, i.e. why and how to become International ASRT member, check here: HTTPS://WWW.ASRT.ORG/MEMBERSHIP/JOIN-ASRT/MEMBERSHIP-CATEGORIES/INTERNATIONAL
If you’re not ASRT member, the ASRT approved Category A CE credits will still have lot of value to your career growth. However, the requirement of CE credits will depend upon the policy guidelines of your country and may also be of your organization.
In today's health care environment, being a professional means more than just doing your job well. Technological advances and shifts in our nation's system of health care delivery demand that the professional radiologic technologist pursue continuing education just to keep current. Continuing education gives radiologic technologists a way to maintain competency and prevent professional obsolescence. It benefits technologists, the patients they serve and the profession as a whole. Since 1995, continuing education has been mandatory for radiologic technologists registered by the ARRT. The Registry defines a continuing education activity as one that is "planned, organized and administered to enhance the knowledge and skills underlying the professional performance that the technologist uses to provide services to patients, the public or the medical profession. To qualify as a CE activity, it must provide sufficient depth and scope of a subject area."
Category A activities are those evaluated and approved by a Recognized Continuing Education Evaluation Mechanism (RCEEM). Because the ASRT is a RCEEM, any activity approved by the ASRT is awarded Category A or A+ credit. When choosing your CE activities, look for Category A or A+ approval.
  • The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is a credentialing organization, not a professional society. ARRT is the world’s largest organization offering credentials in medical imaging, interventional procedures, and radiation therapy. It certifies and registers technologists in a range of disciplines by overseeing and administering education, ethics, and examination requirements. Although they support the professional growth and development of our registrants, their main purpose is to assess and recognize qualified individuals in medical imaging, interventional procedures, and radiation therapy.
  • ASRT is an organization for professionals in radiologic science. Members enjoy access to CE, peer-reviewed journals, a member magazine, and discounts on products and services. ASRT is an ARRT-approved RCEEM+ for CE credits.
  • Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) is professional organization at the nexus of medical imaging and information technologies. It seeks to spearhead research, education, and the discovery of solutions to advance imaging informatics and patient care. The interdisciplinary organization allows physicians, administrators, health information professionals, technologists, scientists, and engineers to learn from one another.
  • American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII) is a non-profit organization that sponsor the Imaging Informatics Professional Certification program and awards the Imaging Informatics Professional designation to the qualified candidates. Funded by SIIM and ARR, ABII offers national certification program that defines the standards for demonstrated knowledge and competence in the medical imaging informatics.
Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP), a certification from the American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII), demonstrates that an individual has mastered the necessary technical, clinical, and business skill sets to invest in quality improvement, be at the forefront of the profession, and innovate within the field of imaging informatics.
Check here: HTTP://SIIM.ORG/PAGE/BECOME_CIIP
You’ll have chance to update your knowledge and earn ASRT Approved CE Credits.
The CIIP is good for 10 years, where there are requirements, including taking the exam again to be recertified. Here is the web link HTTPS://WWW.ABII.ORG/DOCS/10-YEAR-CERTIFICATION-REQUIREMENTS.PDF HTTPS://WWW.ABII.ORG/MAINTAINING-CERTIFICATION.ASPX. The four options for the 10-Year Requirements include: Practice, Education, Research, and Examination. Only one of the four options must be completed during the compliance period and pre-approval by ABII of the activity selected by the diplomat is not required. CIIP started in 2007, so this year is the first group who will need to re-certify.
Yes, you need to have good understanding of basics of imaging informatics, standards, etc.
1. It carries ASRT Approved Category A Credits.
2. Preparation for CIIP Exam.
  • CIIP Review of Testing Elements: exam preparation of estimated test content.
  • Mock Examination - simulation of CIIP examination under expected test conditions.
  • Examination Review - proper exam responses and answer questions
3. It’s a great certification recognized world over. A certification, from the American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII), demonstrates that an individual has mastered the necessary technical, clinical, and business skill sets to invest in quality improvement, be at the forefront of the profession, and innovate within the field of imaging informatics.
4. Develop your value as a CIIP and transition into a new role as a leader in the enterprise.
5. Insufficient quality training on the PACS subject worldwide.
6. Experienced trainers from Europe and US, who know ins and outs of the subject.
Since the course has ASRT Category A credits, it would count for CT, MRI, and all ARRT CE requirements. There are plans to have content specific requirements at some point, but Imaging Informatics is part of all of the ARRT credentials.

Also, Informatics is becoming a larger part of all Imaging Technologists duties, and if they have that training they will be more proficient. They will also be able to be creative with workarounds in case there is a problem and they will be a hero.

Technologist input is helpful for any system changes or upgrades, and the more they understand, the more good ideas they can contribute.
Yes, you may avail of discount on early registration and an additional discount on being part of the group.
Yes. Please search the session topics in the ARRT search took here: HTTPS://APPS.ARRT.ORG/FINDCE/
These are ASRT approved, so are applicable to ABII. Also recognized by ARRT.CIIP Credits have to be related to one of the content categories in certification. And this course has them all.
Not in the CIIP Certification Boot Camp. It is a CIIP prep course and it is not a "drill down" with integration interaction. It is lecture with a MOCK test. However, you may need laptop in the PACS, VNA, Enterprise classes. In case of laptop need you will be notified in the email. You may also ask the coordinator of the courses at Kevin.McKinney@acssazp.com.
