As health systems continue to consolidate and solutions become more complex, the demand for highly skilled PACS and Informatics Professional staff is ever more critical and rewarding. Imaging professionals are expected to provide access to any images anywhere at any time in order to optimize patient care. The term enterprise imaging has come about to reflect the shift from diagnostic radiology procedures to diverse medical imaging as dermatology, pathology and surgery so all can be viewed together. Presented by experienced professionals, this program will cover the inner workings of Imaging Informatics from the traditional local PACS, to the eventual transition to an advanced Enterprise Imaging system. Emerging trends such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), FHIR and blockchain based applications will be discussed and interactive discussion is encouraged throughout entire course.
You will leave this course with an advanced understanding of:
Standard laptop will be needed for the exercises, better with Windows OS.
We have tried to provide answers to some of the most commonly asked questions. Please check below. Should you need further assistance, please email us at Kevin.email@example.com
How would training on VNA and Enterprise Imaging help me?
PACS Technology in a hospital has been available for 10 -20 years. However, with more hospitals getting bought or entering mergers, the number of “health systems” is growing and new technology is available to manage imaging at the “enterprise level”. All users are either experiencing a change to VNA and Enterprise Imaging or soon will and this course will prepares you for the change.
Why to invest in this training?
I have an IT background. How about taking career more toward the IT side of it with PACS?
I'm Radiologic Technologists (RTs). Will this course help me in my line of work?
Is this course useful for those vendors who sell in this industry and don’t want to be “in over their head”?
The good thing about this course is that it’s a little bit about everything and being on the commercial side it would help you understand the perspective your customers hold of their vendors.
Does this course makes you eligible to take the exam?
You need 7 points total under the ABII qualification requirements, but the PACS Course will give you 2 points for CE on Imaging Informatics, which count towards CIIP exam qualification ( see https://abii.org and look at tab Seeking Certification)
Do we need laptop or equipment?
Yes, laptop will be needed for the exercises, better with Windows OS.
What is CIIP?
Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP), a certification from the American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII), demonstrates that an individual has mastered the necessary technical, clinical, and business skill sets to invest in quality improvement, be at the forefront of the profession, and innovate within the field of imaging informatics.
How to Become a CIIP?
Check here: HTTP://SIIM.ORG/PAGE/BECOME_CIIP
How do I register to take CIIP exam?
It includes how to select a location to take the computer based exam under Pearson VUE Testing centers.
Will this seminar give me all information I need to pass this exam?
The PACS and Enterprise Imaging Challenge: A Modern Approach VNA Integration course includes instruction and exercises on all of the items in the current content guidelines from the ABII website https://www.abii.org/docs/Test-Content-Outline-2017.pdf . Doing a comparison of the ABII Test Content to the course schedule and objectives in the brochure should show how ACS will accomplish this. A student in this course will gain education in what ABII, ACS, and others feel are essential skills needed to be a professional in Imaging Informatics whether the goal is taking the certification test or expanding their knowledge to advance their career.

I am already CIIP certified, so how this course will benefit me?
You’ll have chance to update your knowledge and earn ASRT Approved CE Credits.
I am already CIIP certified; will these credits be applicable to ABIIs continuing education requirements?
These are ASRT approved, so are applicable to ABII. Also recognized by ARRT.CIIP Credits have to be related to one of the content categories in certification. And this course has them all.
Is it important to attend the complete course for getting CE credits?
Yes, it is.
What is ASRT?
American Society of Radiologic Technologist (ASRT) is the premier professional association of people working in medical imaging and radiation therapy
What is the benefit of getting ASRT membership?
ASRT membership helps you advance your career, keep up with continuing education, advocate for your patients, network with colleagues and much more.
I live outside USA. Can I become ASRT member? If Yes, why and how?
Yes, members who are not registered with the ARRT and live outside the United States can become ASRT members. For more details, i.e. why and how to become International ASRT member, check here: HTTPS://WWW.ASRT.ORG/MEMBERSHIP/JOIN-ASRT/MEMBERSHIP-CATEGORIES/INTERNATIONAL
I am not a member of ASRT, so how this course or CE credits will benefit me?
If you’re not ASRT member, the ASRT approved Category A CE credits will still have lot of value to your career growth. However, the requirement of CE credits will depend upon the policy guidelines of your country and may also be of your organization.
Why continuing education (CE)?
In today's health care environment, being a professional means more than just doing your job well. Technological advances and shifts in our nation's system of health care delivery demand that the professional radiologic technologist pursue continuing education just to keep current. Continuing education gives radiologic technologists a way to maintain competency and prevent professional obsolescence. It benefits technologists, the patients they serve and the profession as a whole.
Since 1995, continuing education has been mandatory for radiologic technologists registered by the ARRT. The Registry defines a continuing education activity as one that is "planned, organized and administered to enhance the knowledge and skills underlying the professional performance that the technologist uses to provide services to patients, the public or the medical profession. To qualify as a CE activity, it must provide sufficient depth and scope of a subject area."
What is Category A credit?
Category A activities are those evaluated and approved by a Recognized Continuing Education Evaluation Mechanism (RCEEM). Because the ASRT is a RCEEM, any activity approved by the ASRT is awarded Category A or A+ credit. When choosing your CE activities, look for Category A or A+ approval.
What is the relation between ARRT and ASRT, SIIM and ABII?
How long this CIIP certification will be valid?
The CIIP is good for 10 years, where there are requirements, including taking the exam again to be recertified. Here is the web link HTTPS://WWW.ABII.ORG/DOCS/10-YEAR-CERTIFICATION-REQUIREMENTS.PDF HTTPS://WWW.ABII.ORG/MAINTAINING-CERTIFICATION.ASPX. The four options for the 10-Year Requirements include: Practice, Education, Research, and Examination. Only one of the four options must be completed during the compliance period and pre-approval by ABII of the activity selected by the diplomat is not required. CIIP started in 2007, so this year is the first group who will need to re-certify.
Is there any preparation that I need to do before attending this course?
Yes, you need to have good understanding of basics of imaging informatics, standards, etc.
